New Zealand Ambassador to Indonesia Trevor Matheson on Monday officially launched the East Indonesia Innovative Farming Systems and Capability for Agribusiness Activity (IFSCA) initiative and handed over US$4.5 million through the New Zealand Agency for International Development (NZAID) to support the program.
Matheson said the aid was provided to run the program in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) for the next four years.
"Hopefully the program will help improve the capacity and welfare of farmers in NTB and in eastern Indonesian regions in general," he said.
The IFSCA program in NTB is to be conducted in North Lombok and Dompu regencies, thanks to a cooperation between Mataram University and Massey University New Zealand. A similar program will also be conducted in Kupang regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
